8,302. in New Orleans' past. Sep 4, 2013. #7. It is a bad move, IMO. Kahler to Floyd, Floyd to 6 screw, 6 screw to American 2 post, 2 post to Hardtail. None of the changes make economic sense. The one I like is upgrading a Licensed Floyd to a solid one. This is why I beg people who want a Floyd, please don't molest any new guitars.

Re: SLSMG! Questions? Hardtail vs. Floyd Rose. BTW, a hardtail bridge would put the strings closer to the body, like a guitar with a recessed Floyd or vintage trem. TOMs are higher up off the body and have neck angles that are tilted back more (like a Les Paul, any Jackson with a TOM bridge, or guitars with non-recessed Floyds).

A Floyd is more versatile. I can deck or block a Floyd and it functions the same as a hardtail. floyd rose easily. it can do both while hardtail can only do hardtail thing. Good question. I have a Floyd Rose equiped guitar and I installed a Tremol-no which allows me to change between hard tail, dive only or floating.

If it were mine, I'd probably just get a Tusq pre-slotted nut and glue it into place. A 43mm, flat bottom nut should work just fine, all you need to do is sand it down to the proper height. I believe it is part # pq-5043-00. A little white glue should do the trick, and should be easy enough to remove if you decide to go back to the floyd at.

Apr 23, 2021 232 Minneapolis Feb 17, 2022 #1 I bought a Strat with a Floyd Rose and it's been a bit of fun but I find myself growing disinterested in it. I like to use alternate tunings and like Drop-D et al and while playing along with albums the FR is too inconvenient.
